Safety & Compliance Coordinator

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our fleet operations comply with all federal, provincial, and company safety regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety, maintaining compliance standards, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our drivers and dispatch team.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS), electronic logging devices (ELDs), driver qualification files, and vehicle inspections.
- Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies and procedures in accordance with MTO, CVOR, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of driver files, safety records, maintenance documents, and compliance reports.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, violations, and customer complaints, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Coordinate onboarding and ongoing safety training for drivers and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of safety meetings, incident reports, training certifications, and regulatory documentation.
- Monitor driver performance and address compliance concerns in a timely and professional manner.




- Stay informed of changes to transportation laws and communicate updates to drivers, dispatchers, and management.
- Assist with internal audits, insurance requirements, and regulatory inspections.
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment through effective communication and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation safety, compliance, fleet management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including HOS, CVOR, MTO, DOT, and ELD requirements.
- Experience conducting audits, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.

Pay: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
