We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HOS & Cross-Border Compliance Coordinator to oversee driver logbook compliance and maintain regulatory alignment across our North American fleet. In this role, you will audit daily driver ELD logs, ensure strict adherence to FMCSA (US) and MTO (Canada) regulations, and apply practical knowledge of trusted trader and cross-border authorities—including C-TPAT, PIP, CSA, and FAST—to keep our operations compliant and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

- Daily Log Auditing: Review driver ELD logs daily for HOS infractions, form/manner errors, unassigned driving miles, and personal conveyance misuse.
- Violation Resolution & Coaching: Investigate root causes of log violations, conduct driver coaching, and enforce corrective action plans.
- ELD System Maintenance: Support drivers with telematics hardware/software issues, edit approvals, and log corrections.

Audits & Regulatory Compliance (FMCSA & MTO)
- FMCSA & MTO Audit Readiness: Maintain organized, complete compliance records (CVOR/MVR, driver qualification files, maintenance tracking) to ensure the fleet is fully prepared for FMCSA and MTO safety audits.
- Roadside Inspections & DataQ: Review US DOT and Canadian MTO roadside inspection reports, track driver safety scores, and submit DataQ challenges for incorrect violations.
- Driver Qualification Files: Oversee US and Canadian Driver Qualification (DQ) file maintenance, ensuring medical cards, MVRs, and annual reviews are up to date.

Application of Cross-Border Authorities (C-TPAT, PIP, CSA, FAST)
- Applying Trusted Trader Standards: Apply operational rules under cross-border programs—such as C-TPAT (US Customs), PIP (CBSA), CSA (Customs Self Assessment), and FAST (Free and Secure Trade)—to driver workflows and terminal procedures.

- Driver Clearance & FAST Vetting: Oversee driver eligibility for FAST cards, ensuring assigned drivers hold proper credentials to utilize dedicated cross-border lanes.
- Border Protocol Audits: Verify that drivers complete required 17-point truck/trailer inspections and ISO 17712 high-security seal verifications as mandated by cross-border authority guidelines.

Driver Training & Onboarding
- Orientation Training: Educate new drivers on US and Canadian HOS rules (cycle limits, split-sleeper berth), ELD usage, and border clearance protocols.
- Ongoing Support: Act as the primary point of contact for driver questions regarding cross-border exemptions, adverse driving conditions, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2–4+ years of fleet safety, compliance, or dispatch experience in a cross-border trucking environment.
- Cross-Border Program Knowledge: Practical understanding of how to apply C-TPAT, PIP, CSA, and FAST authority requirements to driver and fleet operations.
- Audit Expertise: Strong working knowledge of FMCSA (US) and MTO / CVOR (Canada) regulations and safety audit processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with major ELD/Telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara, Motive, Isaac, GeoTab) and compliance tracking tools.
- Communication: Explicit, firm, and supportive communication skills for coaching drivers and handling regulatory reporting.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Zero critical non-compliance findings during internal or external MTO / FMCSA audits.
- Reduction in overall driver HOS violations and unassigned driving events.
- High rate of driver compliance with cross-border seal and inspection protocols.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
