– Architect/technologist/designer – Senior
Working with a strong team of professionals to support the work of architecture in a busy downtown firm.
We work collaboratively in office Monday through Friday.
OVERVIEW A Senior Architect/Technologist/Designer leads or participates with a team to complete, complex building projects from concept to completion, responsible for design, technical expertise, project management, and client liaison.
Key duties include translating client needs into functional designs, ensuring compliance with codes, coordinating with consultants, overseeing junior staff, and managing project phases like scope, schedule, and budget. They also often present designs to clients and stakeholders and participate in contract administration and site visits.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE
Take guidance/mentorship from more experienced team members.
Give guidance/mentorship to less experienced team members
Translate client needs into functional and innovative solutions
Produce detailed working drawings and specifications.
Prepare tender applications and presentations.
Prepare drawings and present ideas for the client to review.
Follow building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances.
Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
Prepare scale drawings.
Integrate engineering element into unified design.
Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, zoning laws, and safety and sustainability requirements.
Coordinate with consultants (e.g., structural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated design deliverables.
Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders during presentations and meetings.
Prepare bidding documents, participate in contract negotiations, and review shop drawings and submittals.
QUALIFICATIONS A degree or diploma from a recognized Architecture or Architectural Technology program
Minimum 4 years professional experience with the OBC and Part 3 in particular
Proficiency with BIM (Archicad preferred)
Excellent communication and team collaborating skills

SALARY RANGE
$90,000 - $140,000.00 per year depending on experience
