Role Description The Senior Auditor will perform and lead audit engagements for a variety of clients, ensuring work is completed in accordance with applicable auditing standards and firm methodology. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning audits, assessing internal controls, performing substantive testing, documenting findings, and preparing explicit workpapers and reports. The role also involves supervising and mentoring junior team members, reviewing their work, and providing constructive feedback to support their development.
The Senior
Auditor will collaborate closely with clients to understand their business, address audit-related questions, and communicate results in a professional manner.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON.
Qualifications
Strong technical auditing abilities, including planning, risk assessment, internal control evaluation, and execution of audit procedures.
Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting frameworks (e.g., IFRS, ASPE), with the ability to interpret complex transactions.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, present audit findings, and work within cross-functional teams.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality documentation.
Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring junior staff in an audit or assurance environment.
Comfort with audit and productivity software tools; ability to learn new technologies and data analysis applications.
Professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA or equivalent) or eligibility pursuing such designation.
Prior experience in public accounting or assurance roles, preferably including work with international or multi-entity clients.
High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining independence and professional skepticism.
Ability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, with occasional travel to client locations as required.
