Senior Business Analyst – IT Security, Infrastructure, Cloud & Enterprise Applications

Role: Business Analyst

Location: Calgary – 100% On-site

Role Overview

- Support a range of IT and Security Services projects by translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
- Work across multiple technology domains and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define solutions aligned with strategic and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for IT and security-related initiatives.
- Facilitate:
- Workshops
- Interviews
- Process mapping sessions to understand current and future state processes.
- Translate business needs into:
- Functional requirements
- Non-functional requirements
- User stories
- Acceptance criteria

Solution Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with:
- Project Managers
- Solution Architects
- Technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered effectively.
- Support evaluation and selection of:
- Technology solutions
- Vendors
- Implementation approaches
- Participate in:
- Design reviews
- Testing activities
- Validation activities to ensure business requirements are met.

Documentation & Project Support

- Contribute to project documentation, including:




- Business cases
- Process documentation
- Implementation plans
- Identify and document:
- Risks
- Dependencies
- Change impacts related to business processes and technology systems.
- Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Business Analysis Experience

- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 7 years in a Business Analyst role supporting complex IT projects.
- Proven experience leading requirements gathering for large-scale or cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, frameworks, and tools, including:
- BABOK
- Agile
- Waterfall
- Hybrid methodologies

Technical & Domain Experience

- Experience working across technology domains, including:
- Cybersecurity
- Infrastructure
- Cloud
- Enterprise applications
- IT operations
- Experience supporting regulated or utility environments is an asset.

Certifications

- CBAP certification or equivalent preferred.
- PMP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are an asset.
