Senior Full Stack Developer, Drupal, React and Azure

Location: Kelowna, BC, 100% Remote

Start Date: As soon as available

Duration: 6 months to start, with potential extension

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the team for an initial six-month contract. This is a 100% remote opportunity.

The successful consultant will work directly with the internal developers, architects, designers, product owners, and delivery resources to build a modern digital services platform. The role requires strong hands on experience building new Drupal solutions, rather than primarily maintaining or upgrading existing websites.

The consultant must be comfortable developing React components, configuring Azure infrastructure, and independently creating automated deployment pipelines. The team is also building a shared component library based on atomic design principles, including atoms, molecules, and organisms. Each component will have both a Drupal Twig version and a React version that use common styling and design standards.

The project already has established architectural direction and a clickable front end design. The consultant should also be comfortable using Claude and other AI assisted development tools throughout requirements development, coding, testing, and code review.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and configure a new Drupal 11 digital services platform
- Build reusable and accessible React components
- Develop Drupal Twig components that align with corresponding React components
- Contribute to a shared component library using atomic design principles
- Implement consistent styling across Drupal and React applications




- Build and configure Azure infrastructure required by the application
- Create and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Integrate Azure AI Search and retrieval based functionality where required
- Develop secure application integrations and web services
- Participate fully in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives
- Work closely with product owners, designers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders
- Provide technical recommendations and identify delivery risks early
- Review code and support team development standards
- Use AI assisted development tools to improve requirements, development, testing, and code quality
- Help improve the team’s Agile delivery practices and overall delivery maturity

Requirements:

- Extensive professional software development experience
- Strong recent experience building applications using Drupal 10 or Drupal 11
- Demonstrated experience building Drupal applications from the ground up
- Strong React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript development experience
- Experience creating reusable, component driven user interfaces
- Strong experience with Twig templating and Drupal front end development
- Hands on experience configuring and deploying solutions within Microsoft Azure




- Experience creating automated build and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Robust understanding of modern software engineering, source control, testing, and code review practices
- Significant experience working as a fully contributing member of an Agile Scrum team
- Ability to work independently, identify required tasks, and deliver with limited direction
- Strong communication skills and willingness to provide direct and constructive technical advice
- Experience working collaboratively with internal development and product teams

- Experience implementing Azure AI Search
- Experience with retrieval augmented generation or generative AI solutions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure AI Foundry
- Experience developing accessible digital services that comply with WCAG standards
- Experience building Storybook component libraries
