We're looking for an experienced Senior Protection & Control Testing Technician/Technologist to join our team on a 14/7 rotation. Test and commission the protection & control systems that bring critical power infrastructure online while working alongside experienced commissioning professionals on major utility and infrastructure projects across Canada.

What You'll Do:

- Test and commission MV/HV protection & control schemes across utility, power generation, industrial, and infrastructure projects
- Perform secondary relay injection testing using advanced relay test equipment including Omicron CMC356 and CMC500
- Conduct SCADA point testing and system verification
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning and startup
- Prepare commissioning reports and project documentation
- Assist with the development of commissioning procedures and work instructions
- Coordinate with clients, project teams, and technical stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with corporate, client, and industry safety standards





What We're Looking For:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute
- Minimum 4 years of experience in protection and controls relay testing within the electrical utilities industry
- Hands-on experience with advanced relay test sets (e.g., Omicron CMC356, CMC500)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong general computer skills
- Proven analytical, risk assessment, and problem solving abilities

Requirements: This is a field-based position requiring travel and extended rotations at project sites across Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada. Background checks and Drug & Alcohol testing will be required as part of employment, and candidates must possess a valid driver's licence with a clean abstract. Expected annual earnings: $165,000-$225,000 , inclusive of base salary and overtime (actual earnings may vary based on experience and project requirements.)
