About the Role

We are seeking an elite, deeply technical Senior SDET / Quality Engineer with a rare combination of skills: 10+ years of advanced test automation engineering across multiple modern frameworks, combined with extensive domain expertise in Core Banking infrastructure.

In this role, you will not just execute test cases- you will architect, scale, and maintain enterprise-grade automation frameworks that validate millions of daily transactions, high-compliance workflows, and deep ledger systems. You will bridge the gap between complex financial backend logic and cutting-edge automation.

Key Responsibilities

- Architect End-to-End Automation: Design, build, and scale robust, reusable UI and API testing frameworks from scratch utilizing Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.

- Validate Core Banking Workflows: Lead the validation of high-risk banking subsystems including ledger posting, deposits/loans, payments clearing (EFT/Interac/Wire), treasury, and regulatory compliance data.

- Polyglot Scripting: Write clean, maintainable, and highly efficient test code in both Python and Java, following strict object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns.

- Integrate CI/CD Pipelines: Embed continuous testing strategies into DevOps pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI) to enable "shift-left" testing.

- Data & Backend Verification: Perform complex asynchronous messaging verification (Kafka/MQ) and complex database validation using advanced SQL queries.

- Technical Mentorship: Guide, upskill,



and conduct rigorous code reviews for intermediate and junior quality engineers across the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 10+ Years of Hands-on Experience in dedicated Software Test Automation or Software Development.

- Core Banking Mastery: Proven experience validating Core Banking platforms (e.g., Temenos, Finastra, SAP Banking, Oracle FLEXCUBE, or proprietary high-volume ledger platforms).

- The Big Three Frameworks: Deep, production-level expertise with Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright (you know exactly when to choose one over the other).

- Dual-Language Proficiency: Expert coding skills in both Java and Python.

- API & Middleware Testing: Advanced mastery of backend validation (REST-assured, Postman, SoapUI) and testing event-driven microservices architecture.

- Database Rigor: Exceptional proficiency in relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and processing large-scale transactional data files.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience.

Nice-to-Haves

- Experience with Performance Testing tools (JMeter, Locust) under core-banking load pressures.

- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

- Understanding of Canadian banking regulations and financial compliance frameworks.
