Full Opportunities List Senior Sewer/Tailor Opens in a new window Image Company/Organization/Producer Name Stratford Festival Submission Deadline or Event End Date August 30, 2026 Location Category Ontario Description The Senior level Sewer and/or Tailor is responsible for the execution of all assigned tasks related to garment-construction and alteration as required to support the design needs of multiple seasonal productions. The Senior level Sewer and/or Tailor takes direction from the Cutter and/or First Hand and relies on a knowledge of costume history and materials combined with proven experience of various construction methods and techniques, as well as an ability to learn new approaches and processes as necessary, to meet production standards and pre-determined timelines. Senior level Sewer and/or Tailors will also be required to teach sewing and tailoring methods to more junior level team members.
Successful applicants for this position may be required to take a supervised, in-person sewing test to determine their level of expertise, to be scheduled at a time of mutual convenience. This is a unionized position reporting to the Costume Director and represented by IATSE Local 357.
