Job Summary

VW Social Club is the centre of Food, Drinks, and Fun at the University of Manitoba. We pride ourselves in being a fun, safe and engaging place to work and relax.

We are hiring multiple bartenders and servers for the upcoming school year. Candidates must have Smart Choices certification, with a strong preference for a minimum of six months working as a bartender or server in a hospitality setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be clean and organized, and be able to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring timely delivery with a smile
- Mix and serve drinks responsibly, following standard recipes and safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area and dining space
- Monitor guest satisfaction,



promptly addressing any concerns or special requests
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age and adhere to responsible alcohol service policies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy hours

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a server or bartender is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of basic food safety and responsible alcohol service practices
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods throughout shifts

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
