Job Summary
Cravo Equipment Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of custom Retractable Roof Greenhouses serving customers around the world. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a hands-on Shipping / Logistics Supervisor to lead our shipping and receiving operations at our Brantford, Ontario manufacturing facility.
This is an active leadership position—not a desk-only role. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time on the warehouse floor and in the yard, leading by example while working alongside the shipping team to ensure materials are received, stored, staged, loaded and shipped safely, accurately and on schedule.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will supervise the shipping and receiving team while coordinating the movement of raw materials and finished goods throughout the manufacturing process. You will be responsible for meeting shipping schedules, maintaining accurate inventory records, organizing warehouse and yard storage, and driving continuous improvement in a safe, lean manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the shipping and receiving team while actively participating in daily warehouse operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and containers, staging materials, organizing warehouse and yard storage, and supporting the team during peak workloads.
- Ensure raw materials are received, inspected, accurately entered into the ERP system, and stored in an organized and efficient manner.
- Coordinate the movement of materials through fabrication, galvanizing, storage, staging and final shipment.
- Plan and execute domestic and international shipments, including ocean freight (LCL/FCL) and truck transportation (LTL/FTL).
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, customs documentation,
and export paperwork for domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers and customers to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery.
- Process daily parcel shipments using UPS and other courier systems, including shipping documentation and customs requirements for international orders.
- Participate in weekly production meetings to coordinate shipping priorities and communicate project status.
- Develop and maintain efficient warehouse layouts and storage practices for both indoor and outdoor inventory.
- Coordinate with production, purchasing and project management to ensure customer delivery commitments are achieved.
- Promote a safe workplace by ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and safe material handling practices.
- Train, coach and develop members of the shipping and logistics team while managing day-to-day performance.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related field is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead by example in a hands-on warehouse or shipping workplace.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and ERP systems; experience with Global Shop is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements using Lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment are considered strong assets.
