Definition of work:

The Laboratory Technologist performs all duties related to Hematology, Microbiology, Histology, Blood Transfusion, Chemistry, and Phlebotomy sections. The successful candidate will be committed to safety and will partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care,

Required qualifications:
 Successful completion of a recognized/accredited Medical Laboratory Technology/Science program approved by Newfoundland Health Services
Successful completion of the Medical Laboratory Technologist national examination in the applicable field(s) of practice, as recognized in Canada, is required.
 Current and continued licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals (NLCHP).
 Demonstrated ability to work in a team workplace.
 Demonstrated attention to detail in completion of all tasks.
 Consistent demonstration of NLHS values, Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence (I CARE)
 A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
