Hours This shift runs four 10 hour shifts per week (40 hour weeks) from 5:30am - 4:00pm.
Overtime available.
About the Role
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Shop Labourer / Carpenter performs a variety of shop and yard duties while assisting with the fabrication of prefabricated wall and floor systems. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the prefabrication of wall and floor systems
- Perform general labour duties throughout the shop and yard
- Safely operate hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily production goals
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Complete required safety documentation and inspections
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding work progress and priorities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of construction, carpentry, framing, or related experience
- Experience using common construction hand and power tools
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation (our shop is not serviced by public transit)
- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset but is not required

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Work with hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Perform physically demanding work for extended periods
- Maintain good manual dexterity and coordination
Working Conditions
Employees regularly work
- Around moving equipment and machinery
- In indoor shop and outdoor yard environments
- Around wood dust, airborne particles, and intermittent loud noise
Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn at all times.
