Key Responsibilities

- Provide Psychosocial assessment, treatment, and support to adults with responsible mental illness and their families, including risk, crisis, and clinical needs assessments
- Deliver individual and group education and therapeutic interventions for patients and families
- Collaborate with community resources, residential settings, and the interdisciplinary team to support care and discharge planning
- Advocate for client and family access to appropriate services and resources
- Engage clients, families, and supports in treatment planning, clinical interventions, and risk reduction strategies
- Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups and provide educational presentations to community groups
- Participate in Social Work meetings, peer consultation, committees, task groups,



and Community Treatment Order planning/implementation
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and workload data in compliance with hospital, professional, and legislative standards
- Contribute to research, program evaluation, quality improvement, and support the supervision and education of students every two years.
- Keep up to date regarding professional standards by reviewing current literature, attending educational events, networking with colleagues, etc
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal
- Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Discrimination & Harassment-Free Workplace Policy

Qualifications

- Master’s degree in social work
- Registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in a mental health setting
- Discharge planning experience and knowledge of community resources is essential
- High level of knowledge, skill and confidence in using electronic health record systems for clinical documentation and navigation.
- Experience in group work preferred
- Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)



and/ or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Client centered approach
- Experience with recovery-based programs for the seriously mentally ill is an asset
- Experience working with Concurrent Disorders population an asset
- Conflict resolution knowledge
- Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Sound clinical judgment.
- Experience in community consultation is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team; establish and maintain good working relations.

Language Requirements English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.

Salary Range:

44.67 to 57.90 per hour
