Position: Store Manager, Halifax NS (HRM)

We have an immediate opening for a dedicated and highly motivated full-time Store Manager in our Kempt Road, Halifax, NS store. You will join a team with varied backgrounds, a dedication to excellence, and the common goal of supporting and growing our industry leading business network.

Responsibilities

People Management

- Recruit and select qualified candidates to support company goals and a positive culture.
- Participate in training and development, while ensuring all employees are engaged in continuous learning, including product knowledge, customer service, and sales training.
- Foster continuous learning and growth for all store team members through consistent and equitable feedback, coaching, mentoring, and timely performance management.

Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to assess quarterly sales forecasts and determine staffing needs.
- Build, adjust, and manage staff schedules based on sales performance, traffic patterns, and operational needs.
- Monitor and manage labour costs within budget.
- Assign prices to customers based on preapproved pricing levels and guidelines as outlined in Company policies.

Inventory Management
- Customize the Core inventory assortment to align with local market and customer preferences.




- Manage inventory levels within pre-approved thresholds to balance supply and demand.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure visual merchandising standards align with company planograms and guidelines.

Customer Service and Sales Management
- Develop and implement new strategies to drive store sales and actively share successful approaches with other peer managers to support collective growth.
- Ensure sales initiatives are executed effectively and align with company objectives including promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
- Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key customers through consistent communication, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of their needs.
- Proactively resolve customer concerns to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

Operational Leadership
- Plan and execute strategic daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual initiatives for the store, including budgeting, labor planning, and overall business strategy.
- Ensure adherence to procedures for Point of Sale (POS) transactions, cash handling, opening/closing, and loss prevention.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and store cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Experience

- 2-4 years of retail management experience. An equivalent combination of non-management retail experience may be considered.
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of POS systems and MS Office Suite.
- Adaptable availability, including one Saturday per month and occasional weekend shifts where coverage is needed.

This is a representation of the responsibilities associated with the position of Store Manager. However, other tasks do exist, and the Store Manager will be responsible for performing all other duties as directed.
