Overview Support CASIPA's public-facing communications, content strategy, and institutional narrative. This role is for strong writers and communicators who understand how institutions build credibility, presence, and authority through content.

About This Role

As the Strategic Communications and Institutional Affairs Intern, you will help CASIPA develop and maintain its communications infrastructure — including LinkedIn content, newsletters, research summaries, and institutional messaging. You will be expected to write clearly, think strategically, and understand how communication shapes perception. You will work closely with CASIPA leadership to craft content that reflects CASIPA's institutional voice: authoritative, credible, globally positioned.

This is not a social media intern role in the conventional sense — this is institutional communications work that requires skilled judgment and writing discipline.

Key Responsibilities Draft and schedule LinkedIn posts, articles, and updates representing CASIPA's institutional voice

Write newsletter content covering Canada-Africa innovation news, program updates, and ecosystem highlights

Develop research summaries, briefing documents, and sector intelligence reports

Support the preparation of institutional communications for partners, members, and stakeholders

Maintain a content calendar aligned with CASIPA's programming and strategic priorities

Monitor media and ecosystem news relevant to Canada-Africa innovation





Contribute to CASIPA's press and public affairs strategy Required Skills Exceptional written English Understanding of institutional or professional communication Ability to research and synthesize information clearly Strong attention to tone, voice, and audience Self-starter with ability to work independently Interest in Africa-Canada innovation or international affairs Preferred Qualifications Background in communications, journalism, public affairs, or related field Prior experience writing for institutions, publications, or professional platforms Familiarity with LinkedIn content strategy Experience producing newsletters or research summaries Understanding of Canadian or African institutional ecosystems What You'll Gain You will develop a professional communications portfolio with real institutional content, deepen your understanding of strategic institutional messaging, and gain exposure to the Canada-Africa innovation sector. This experience is directly applicable to careers in public affairs, institutional communications, media, policy, or international organizations.

Selection Process

Application review including writing sample 2. Pre-screen conversation (15 to 20 minutes) 3. Short writing task 4. Final interview with CASIPA leadership 5. Offer and onboarding Eligibility Open to students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals with strong writing ability and interest in institutional communications.
