LEX3’s Edmonton office is seeking a Structural Technologist to supplement our growing team. The role is primarily drafting and design to support our bridge team, although some buildings team support is anticipated. The successful candidate will work alongside our team of engineering and technical specialists to translate conceptual ideas to real world structural engineering projects. As a Structural Engineering Technologist, you can expect to be involved in:
- Carrying out design drawing tasks in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Revit;
- Ensuring quality control of your design production work;
- Communicating with team and project managers;
- Performing a variety of design and drafting assignments using independent judgment;
- Advising on and review of technical challenges;
- Reviewing shop drawings and other technical submittals; and,
- Ensuring deadlines are met.
Job Duties Our ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited Civil Engineering Technology program or equivalent. Relevant experience in bridges and/or buildings work will be considered an asset. Specifically, we are looking for the following skills, strengths, and interests.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, and some experience with Revit;
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software;
- Drafting skills and knowledge of drawing set-up and production;
- A keen eye for detail and pride in your work, in projects both large and small;
- Committed to ongoing personal and professional development; and,
- Certification or eligible for certification with ASET.
Time commitment: full time, permanent position (40 hours per week). Location: Edmonton office. Our flexible work environment allows employees to work from home up to two days per week,
with in-office collaboration encouraged for mentorship and team development.
