Ensure compliance with tree protection laws as a Tree Protection Inspector for the Town of Oakville. This temporary full time role focuses on inspections, public assistance, and by-law enforcement. Reporting to the Supervisor of Forest Protection, you will inspect properties to ensure adherence to the Town’s by-laws regarding tree protection and site alterations. You will engage with the public about forestry-related policies and handle any contraventions identified during inspections.

Your role involves detailed record-keeping and potentially testifying in court as an expert witness. Key Responsibilities:

- Inspect properties for compliance with tree protection by-laws
- Provide information to the public on tree protection laws
- Interact with responsible parties for by-law compliance
- Initiate prosecutions when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of investigations Requirements:
- 3-year degree in Forestry or Arboriculture
- 3-5 years of urban forestry experience
- Certified Arborist from International Society of Arboriculture
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
