About Gloo Studios

Founded in 2008, Gloo Studios is a boutique creative studio located in Burnaby Heights. We handle video production, animation, and VFX, but more importantly, we pride ourselves on being a genuinely fun, creative and supportive place to work. Right now, we are looking to build a trusted roster of freelance contractors that we can regularly partner with as exciting current projects roll in.

The Role

We are looking for a talented and versatile VFX Artist with strong After Effects skills to join our roster for upcoming project-based work. As a freelancer, you will collaborate remotely with our team to deliver high quality visual effects and post production polish on a variety of video projects.

PLEASE NOTE: Our pipeline is strictly After Effects-based; we do not composite with Nuke.

What You’ll Do

VFX Tasks: Execute cleanups, rotoscoping, compositing, 2D/3D tracking, and burn-ins to elevate the final picture quality.

Motion Graphics & 3D (Bonus): Contribute to motion graphics tasks as needed to support the project's visual narrative. Any working knowledge or experience with 3D software/workflows is a huge plus!

Collaboration:



Work effectively with our creative leads to iterate on feedback and meet project deadlines.

File Management: Maintain organized project files and adhere to the studio's workflow and delivery standards.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Location: You are currently residing in British Columbia (preference will be given to candidates in the Metro Vancouver area).

Equipment: As a remote contractor, you must have your own dedicated workstation capable of handling demanding VFX and compositing workflows.

Technical Expertise: You are highly proficient in Adobe After Effects.

The Skills: You have a proven track record with cleanup, roto, compositing, 2D/3D tracking, and burn-ins. (Experience with motion graphics and 3D work are definite assets!)

The Goods: A strong demo reel or portfolio showcasing your specific VFX work and compositing skills.

Working Style: You are a reliable freelancer who communicates well, manages your time effectively, and can thrive in a remote, project-based environment.
