Role Description: WordPress Web Designer & Developer (Contract)

Trans Canada Labels is seeking an experienced WordPress Web Designer & Developer to design and build a modern, high-performing website that represents our brand and supports our business growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with our marketing team to transform our existing website into a professional, SEO-optimized, multi-page WordPress website focused on lead generation, user experience, and long-term scalability.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop a modern, responsive WordPress website
- Create an intuitive navigation structure and user-friendly experience




- Build pages for products, industries served, company information, contact, and resources
- Optimize website performance, speed, and mobile responsiveness
- Implement SEO best practices throughout the site
- Integrate contact forms and lead generation tools
- Migrate existing website content where appropriate
- Ensure compatibility across major browsers and devices
- Provide documentation and training for future content updates
- Test, troubleshoot, and launch the completed website

Qualifications: Required

- Proven experience designing and developing WordPress websites
- Solid portfolio of professional business websites
- Experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, or custom WordPress development
- Strong understanding of responsive web design principles
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress best practices
- Experience with on-page SEO and website optimization
- Ability to optimize website speed and Core Web Vitals
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

Preferred
- Experience building websites for manufacturing or industrial companies
- Familiarity with B2B marketing and lead generation
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles
- Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console
- Experience with website migrations from Wix or other platforms
- Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Figma
