1. Senior Project Manager, IT Infrastructure & Operations

Gem Tek Recruiting is partnering with a large global organization to hire a Senior Project Manager for its IT Infrastructure & Operations team.

This is not a general PM role. The successful candidate must have deep infrastructure knowledge and the credibility to challenge architects, engineers, vendors, and technical leaders.

Responsibilities

- Lead complex infrastructure, cloud, networking, systems integration, and operational transformation projects
- Define scope, dependencies, risks, timelines, resources, and technical requirements
- Challenge architecture decisions and manage scope changes
- Lead governance forums, steering committees, CAB, and technical working groups
- Manage vendors, risks, priorities, budgets, and operational readiness
- Ensure documentation, training, monitoring, runbooks, and rollback plans are complete before go live
- Provide clear reporting to senior technical and business stakeholders

Mandatory Experience

- 12+ years in IT infrastructure, operations, systems engineering, or a related technical setting




- 7+ years leading infrastructure, cloud, networking, or systems integration projects
- 5+ years in senior project, program, technical lead, or architecture roles
- Strong cloud experience across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
- Strong networking and security knowledge, including LAN, WAN, SD WAN, VPN, firewalls, SASE, SSE, or Zero Trust
- Experience with systems integration, IAM, SSO, APIs, data centres, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability
- Strong ITIL, Service Now, Jira, CAB, risk, and vendor management experience
- Proven ability to create technical scope, not simply manage an existing plan

Preferred

- PMP, ITIL, PRINCE2, SAFe, AWS, or Azure certification
- Terraform or Ansible
- Monitoring platforms such as Solar Winds, Datadog, or New Relic
- Bilingual French and English
- Experience in global 24/7 environments

Candidates must be able to work onsite at least three days per week in Toronto or Montréal and contract directly through Gem Tek as an independent contractor.
