Metro Testing & Engineering is hiring a Specialty Construction Materials Testing Technician for Burnaby.

Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and looking for a hands-on career in the construction industry? We're looking for a motivated *Specialty Construction Materials Testing Technician* to join our growing team.

In this role, you'll perform specialized testing of construction materials while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with industry standards. *What you need to have:*

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent writing and documentation abilities
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Good mechanical aptitude
- The ability to perform well under pressure and manage changing priorities
- Basic to intermediate math skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- A commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail

Bonus Qualifications

The following experience is considered an asset:

- Knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Previous experience with concrete technology
- Experience with anchors and anchor systems

Physical & Travel Requirements





This is a physically active position that requires the ability to:

- Lift and carry equipment and materials weighing *at least 50 lbs*
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
- Safely handle testing equipment and construction materials
- Travel to local and remote project sites as required
- Participate in occasional overnight projects and travel away from home
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
