Overview

Join the System Design East (SDE) team at TC Energy as an intermediate System Design Engineer. In this role you will conduct hydraulic design and analysis for the Canadian Mainline (ML) and Trans Québec and Maritimes (TQM) integrated natural gas pipeline systems to support commercial growth and long‑term system performance.

Responsibilities

- Conduct hydraulic simulation and analysis of facility solutions for the ML and TQM integrated gas transmission system to support long‑term planning and optimization of system capacity.
- Evaluate alternatives to ensure facilities align with technical, economic considerations, long‑term requirements and corporate sustainability goals.
- Provide hydraulic input to datasheets, DBMs, drawing packages and develop decision summaries to authorize funding required for project development.
- Analyze performance characteristics (head/flow) of compressor units to ensure they meet requirements and recommend changes where necessary.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize capital expansion programs and meet market demands.
- Collaborate with Asset Planning and System Operations teams to optimize system operation and maintenance programs and conduct hydraulic risk assessments.
- Contribute to the preparation of CER facility applications and support other regulatory applications and initiatives.
- Develop strategies for process improvement and innovation through deployment of integrated programming and automation solutions.
- Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications





- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical preferred).
- Minimum4years of progressive, relevant experience (an alternate combination of education or experience may be considered).
- Registered, or eligible to be registered, as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with APEGA in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

- Pipeline hydraulic simulation experience (Synergi Gas) and ability to apply this knowledge to develop facility and capacity recommendations.
- Self‑motivated with robust analytical skills.
- Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work and contribute within a team environment.
- Knowledge of the ML and TQM integrated gas pipeline systems.
- Business acumen with knowledge of system operations, gas markets, pipeline infrastructure and regulatory requirements for facility applications.
- Programming (e.g., Python, VBA, PowerBI), AI or data analytics experience.
