Summary

DMC Mining Services is looking for a Senior Designer, Structural to join our team permanently in Vaughan, Ontario. The role involves completing complex designs and drawings for fabrication and construction, including steel fabrication, welded and bolted connections, and concrete structures. The incumbent must make independent decisions and adhere to company standards and procedures, using commercially available design software.

Responsibilities

- Develop innovative and creative structural design solutions (layout plans, sections, and details) to resolve various structural design challenges, adding value to DMC’s complex mining projects.
- Work with the engineering team to develop preliminary and final designs.
- Create 3D models in Revit and produce drawings to issue to clients.
- Produce preliminary, tender, and detailed construction drawings for buildings and structures.
- Detail structural elements.
- Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
- Review vendor drawings, standard details, field data and information provided by project personnel for developing drawings that show details of project features.
- Complete drawing sets for a specific item or project feature for fabrication and construction.
- Revise drawings as needed to correct details and reflect actual versus planned project feature locations and dimensions.
- Support Site Design requests and provide prompt responses.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering / Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- 15+ years of experience in structural design, with experience working in a 3D model environment in construction, engineering or mining industries, or a combination thereof.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit required.
- Robust attention to detail.




- Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment and set priorities.
- Ability to plan and layout drawings without supervision.
- Knowledge of applicable structural design software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks and other Autodesk software an asset.
- Understanding of construction techniques, material properties and engineering principles.
- Strong communication skills.
- Previous experience working on mining projects is an asset.

- Salary Range: $116,050.00 to $184,200.00 CAD.
