Elevate imaging technologies as a Senior Electrical Engineer focusing on camera hardware at Planet. This role is hybrid, requiring on-site work in San Francisco three days per week, allowing for energetic collaboration.
In this pivotal position, you will lead the electrical architecture for satellite camera payloads, integrating advanced imaging technologies. Key activities include the design of power systems, ensuring data integrity, and working collaboratively with a diverse group of engineers. Your knowledge of imaging systems, coupled with hands-on experience with testing equipment, will be crucial for optimizing camera performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead design for satellite imaging camera hardware
• Ensure high-speed integrity of data from sensor to FPGA
• Collaborate closely across engineering specialties




• Assess and design low-noise electronic systems
• Advise on optimal sensor choices and compliance standards
Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in imaging hardware design
• Expertise in CMOS sensors and noise modeling techniques
• Experience with high-end testing equipment for validation
• Familiarity with LEO environments and design constraints
