Your area of focus

Diagnosing, testing, and repairing vehicle systems to ensure their security and functionality. Conducting preventive maintenance, inspecting critical vehicle components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines, and repairing or replacing parts as needed. Mentoring apprentices and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

What drives your day‑to‑day

- Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and OEM standards.
- Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production/repairs, cycle times, and customer communication.
- Conduct multi‑point inspections to recommend repairs while ensuring safety and reliability of vehicles before return to customers.
- Document all work performed on the vehicle repair order, creating a narrative consistent with OEM standards, ensuring proper warranty payment by the manufacturer.
- Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service department.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory‑sponsored training classes as required.
- Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.

Must‑haves





- Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
- Provincially recognised Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate (completed or in progress).
- Red Seal Certification considered an asset.
- Completion of a related post‑secondary program and/or training courses.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Valid driver’s licence and a safe driving history.
