We are seeking a highly skilled Synthetic Trading Lead Engineer to join our Equities & Cross-Asset Financing Technology team.

Our team is responsible for designing and delivering innovative trading solutions that support Prime Brokerage and Financing businesses across global markets. We work closely with trading, product, and engineering teams to build scalable, high-performance platforms that meet the evolving needs of the business while maintaining the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

As a Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and technical direction of a next-generation Synthetic Trading platform, driving innovation and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain a scalable, highly available, low-latency Synthetic Trading platform.
- Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term technical strategy of the platform.
- Partner closely with front-office trading and product teams to deliver current features and enhancements quickly and reliably.
- Collaborate with compliance, risk, and control teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Work with global engineering teams on collaborative development, code reviews, and technical planning.




- Promote engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and modern software development methodologies.
- Contribute to the evolution of the platform's architecture to support future business growth.

Qualifications

- Proven experience working in an investment banking or capital markets environment.
- Equities trading front office profile.
- Expert-level Java development experience, including strong knowledge of the JVM, garbage collection, data structures, concurrency, and non-blocking I/O.
- Experience building low-latency trading systems; exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and UI development is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Delta One and Synthetic Trading, including order lifecycle, inventory management, locate processes, and FIX messaging.
- Experience designing scalable, resilient, and distributed trading platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for technology and continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of risk management principles and the role of technology in regulated financial environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.
