Location: North Bay or Toronto, ON

Specific Responsibilities

- Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements in accordance with established authority, underwriting guidelines, and service standards.
- Evaluate risk quality, coverage requirements, pricing, terms, and conditions for commercial accounts.
- Develop and maintain robust broker relationships through timely communication and practical underwriting solutions.
- Contribute to portfolio retention and profitable growth through effective negotiation and sound account management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business objectives and service commitments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
- CIP designation, or active progress toward completion, is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with underwriting systems, rating tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

risk assessment, pricing, and coverage analysis.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Strong account analysis and portfolio management skills.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to understand, address, and resolve broker and client concerns effectively.
