In return, you’ll gain lifelong friendships, the chance to live and work in an iconic location, and a deep sense of accomplishment.The Head Technician leads the Technical Operations department at the Golden Skybridge Adventure Park and is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all technical attractions. This includes oversight of the mountain coaster, ziplines, climbing wall, and other adventure‑based infrastructure.This is a fixed‑term contract starting immediately and continuing through December 31st, with the potential of extension (by mutual agreement). There will be a probationary period of at least 90 days. The Head Technician position typically includes work during weekends, early morning and evenings, task dependant.Roles & ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Technical Operations team, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance oversightOversee all technical maintenance programs for:Mountain CoasterZiplines and challenge‑based attractionsClimbing wallOther mechanical and technical systems across the siteEnsure all preventative maintenance schedules are followed and documentedDiagnose complex technical issues and determine appropriate repair solutionsPerform and oversee inspections in accordance with manufacturer requirements and applicable standards (e.G., ACCT, CSA,
ANSI, NFPA)Ensure all technical systems operate safely and reliably for guests and staffMaintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts usage, and work ordersManage tools, spare parts, and technical inventoryIdentify risks and communicate safety or operational concerns to the Operations ManagerLead and support training, mentorship, and competency development of Technical Operations staffLiaise with external inspectors, manufacturers, and service providers as requiredSupport seasonal commissioning and decommissioning of attractionsContinuously seek improvements to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and streamline maintenance processesEnsure compliance with WorkSafeBC, Technical Safety BC, and company Health & Safety policiesAct as the senior technical point of contact for the Operations departmentOther duties as requiredRequired Skills & QualificationsExtensive technical maintenance experience in adventure attractions, mechanical systems, or similar environmentsStrong leadership experience managing a small technical teamIn‑depth understanding of zipline, challenge course, and/or gravity‑powered ride systemsStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work at heights and in mountainous terrainExcellent attention to detail and safety‑focused mindsetStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPhysically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditionsAvailability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as requiredSound judgment and decision‑making skillsConsidered an AssetRed Seal or equivalent Millwright/HD Mechanic certificationACCT Level 1 or higher certificationIRATA or SPRAT certificationExperience with alpine coaster maintenanceExperience with CMMS systemsPetzl PPE Inspector certificationElectrical or mechanical trade backgroundFirst Aid certificationThe starting wage for this role is the equivalent of $34.00/hour.About UsWe’re more than a hospitality and attractions company.
