Overview

Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant (Korean language skills) in Toronto, ON. This role supports residents in residential care settings under the supervision of a physiotherapist.

Location: 17 Maplewood Ave, York, ON M6C 4B3

Schedule: 22.75 hours/week (Monday and Wednesday 8:30am - 4:30pm; Tuesday 9:00am - 5:15pm)

Status: Permanent Part-Time

Mandatory: Fluent in Korean

Responsibilities

- Assist the supervising physiotherapist with components of treatment plans for residents in residential care communities.
- Perform prescribed treatments including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and application of modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
- Deliver dynamic, secure, and therapeutically beneficial group exercise classes for residents.
- Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments.
- Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.




- Maintain regular communication with the physiotherapist regarding changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions.
- Record daily treatments in the organization's web-based system.

Qualifications

- PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or a related healthcare field.
- Previous experience in an LTC setting is an asset.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months).
- Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.
