Mechanical Engineer – Bruce Power Refurbishment Program

ABMI is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the Bruce Power Refurbishment Program , one of North America's most significant nuclear life-extension projects.

Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will contribute to the design, analysis, modification and implementation of engineering solutions supporting the long-term operation of one of the world's largest nuclear generating stations.

Your Role

As a Mechanical Engineer , you will provide technical expertise to support engineering, refurbishment and life‑extension activities on critical nuclear systems and components.

You will be responsible for developing engineering solutions, supporting design modifications, resolving field issues and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform mechanical design, engineering analysis and technical evaluations.
- Prepare and support Engineering Change Control (ECC) packages and design modifications.
- Resolve field engineering issues during construction, installation and commissioning.
- Support refurbishment and life‑extension projects for critical plant systems.




- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry codes and nuclear standards.
- Collaborate with project teams, site personnel and utility stakeholders.
- Contribute to technical problem‑solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a robust nuclear safety culture.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in nuclear, energy or other regulated industries.
- Experience with Design Engineering and Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes.
- Strong analytical, technical writing and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant Technical Knowledge: ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, CSA B51 Part 1, CSA N285

Assets

- Experience supporting nuclear refurbishment projects.
- Bruce Power, OPG or CANDU experience.
- Existing Bruce Power security clearance.
