Qualcomm Multimedia Systems Group is seeking candidates for its camera firmware team in San Diego, CA. The team focuses on imaging system design and development for mobile devices at both high and low tiers as well as adjacent markets. We are seeking candidates with technical excellence in embedded system development and the creativity and initiative to apply their technical knowledge to exciting new camera technologies.

Selected Candidate Responsibilities

- Embedded low‑level camera driver design and development, working throughout the firmware life cycle.
- End‑to‑end systems development, prototyping and commercialization of recent camera features and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3-5 years related industry experience.
- Strong experience with C/C++ programming. Assembly programming, embedded software experience and knowledge of fixed‑point implementation preferred.
- Experience with microcontroller architecture, RTOS, and/or ARM architecture. Familiar with Android, JTAG, ADB, and version control.
- Strong background in digital signal processing and digital image processing.
- Exposure to MISRA, ASIL and Automotive safety processes.
- Experience with developing and implementing image processing algorithms.
- Quick learner, self‑motivated, able to work independently.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

- Apply ASIC knowledge to assist and support the defining, modeling, designing (digital and/or analog), optimizing, verifying, validating, implementing, and documenting of IP (block/SoC) development for a variety of high‑performance, high‑quality, low‑power products.
- Assist in the creation of architectures, circuit specifications, logic designs, and/or system simulations based on system‑level requirements.




- Collaborate with team members to assist in the development of an implementation strategy that meets system requirements and customer needs.
- Support the evaluation of process flow from high‑level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use, as well as verification or similar activities for custom circuit design/layout flow.
- Utilize tools/applications (e.g., RTL to GDS Flow, Virtuoso) to execute and enable architecture and design of a specific part of a block/SoC or IC package.
- Write technical documentation for EDA/IP/ASIC projects.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $90,100.00 – $135,100.00. The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales‑incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
