RECRUITMENT RANGE: $120,000-$150,000 CAD
Reporting to the President of JLR Canada, and based at our corporate headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, the Director of Network Development will be a key executive position within JLR Canada. The role will have strategic and operational responsibility for ensuring that the Canadian market's retailer network is structured, resourced and motivated to deliver performance to the highest standards and in a manner fully supportive of the JLR brands. Scope of the role encompasses all aspects of franchising, retailer standards, performance management, and business management.
What you will be doing
- Developing the market representation strategy including the implementation of the network plan to support future business plan aspirations (10 year strategic review)
- Developing appropriate tools for determining retailer investment, size, capacity, staffing and an appropriate return on investment. Drive the application of these tools in market;
- Identifying and assessing candidates for new markets through a robust process that establishes the right partners in the right locations, supporting the premium market position;
- Supporting the management of sales and service agreements, appointments / terminations and changes of ownership;
- Providing standards, guidance and support on retailer facility design and build in support of Global Corporate Identity program;
- Managing approval process, tracking, measuring and monitoring dealership builds to ensure on‑time launches with required JLR Corporate Identity;
- Improving the capability of the dealer network through the implementation of dealer standards and performance management of the network;
- Driving business excellence in dealer processes both in Sales and Customer Service areas including programs to track key performance metrics across all retailer business areas including CSI, Profitability, market penetration;
- Managing vehicle margin strategy/programmes in support of corporate goals and retailer profitability;
- Developing and implementing activities to improve dealer profitability;
- Driving strategic long term development of our retailers, supporting development solutions alongside our Training organization;
- Developing and managing a primary retailer ranking program based on a balanced retailer scorecard and resulting retailer recognition program identifying best performers nationally;
- Performing other duties as required
What you will need
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline is desirable or equivalent work experience;
- Strong business acumen, and the ability to work with people at varying levels within the organization and network;
- Experience in Automotive Franchise Management is required;
- Experience with Franchise Law;
- An understanding of drivers of retailer business, and knowledge of retailer processes is essential;
- Previous operational and/ or field experience is required;
- High skill level in financial modelling, as well as project management and coordination;
- Previous experience with legal contracts/agreements,
and a proven track record with supplier and vendor management;
- Excellent judgment to resolve complex issues efficiently and effectively, and robust organizational skills, attention to detail and verbal and writing skills;
- Comfortable presenting and interacting with all levels of the organization;
- Ability to conduct retailer visits as required across the network.
