Envy Consulting Group is partnering with an established North American industrial manufacturer to recruit an experienced Controller for its Brockville operation. This is a senior, hands‑on finance leadership opportunity for someone who wants to do more than report the numbers. The Controller will work closely with site leadership, corporate finance and operations to strengthen financial performance, improve visibility and support better business decisions across the organization. The Opportunity

The Controller will oversee the site’s accounting and financial reporting functions while acting as a strategic partner to operational leadership. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, costing, controls and performance analysis while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial information. This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded finance leader who understands manufacturing operations and can translate financial information into practical recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports and operational performance metrics
- Partner with operations to evaluate margins, labour costs, material usage, overhead and plant performance
- Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, standard costs and variance analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long‑range financial planning
- Develop financial models and business cases to support capital investments and operational initiatives
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory levels




- Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures and financial reporting processes
- Coordinate external audits, tax reporting and other compliance requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, reporting quality and operational efficiency
- Support ERP, reporting and process‑improvement initiatives
- Lead, coach and develop members of the accounting team
- Provide clear financial guidance to both finance and non‑finance leaders

What You Bring

- CPA designation or equivalent senior‑level accounting experience
- Approximately 8–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Previous experience as a Controller, Plant Controller, Assistant Controller or senior finance leader
- Strong experience within manufacturing, industrial products, distribution or a related environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, standard costing and manufacturing variances
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, month‑end reporting and financial analysis
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards, internal controls and audit requirements
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems
- Proven ability to partner with operations and influence business decisions
- Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on, entrepreneurial and performance‑focused environment

Location Requirements

This is a fully onsite position and is not available on a hybrid or remote basis. Candidates should currently live within the Kingston–Brockville–Ottawa corridor or be genuinely prepared to relocate.

Compensation and Benefits

- Base salary of $130,000–$150,000, based on experience
