Their holistic approach spans tax, audit, restructuring, risk management, wealth management, and family office services, helping clients achieve sustainable success and shape their legacy across generations.Principal Tasks and Responsibilities Include:Cross-Border Tax Advisory & Transactions: Participate with senior managers, vice presidents, and partners on buy-side and sell-side cross-border transactionsLead and assist on cross-border corporate and high-net-worth individual personal tax planning initiativesProvide strategic U.S. tax advisory services with a focus on private clients and family businesses (70% advisory, 30% compliance)Research U.S. tax issues, interpret and apply U.S. federal and state tax legislationResearch and interpret international tax treaties, particularly U.S.-Canada tax treaty provisionsReview and prepare U.S. corporate, partnership, trust, and individual federal and state tax returnsAdvise on multistate tax matters and complex cross-border tax structuringParticipate in regular training sessions with all team membersProvide training and mentorship to junior team membersCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Canadian Tax, Family Office Services, Wealth Management,
and Business ValuationManage multiple complex engagements simultaneously while meeting tight deadlinesServe as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals and private businesses on U.S. tax mattersBuild and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on long-term strategic planningRepresent the firm in client meetings and contribute to business development initiativesQualifications and Pre-requisites:Required:Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in U.S. tax advisory and/or tax compliance with a strong focus on private clients (Big Four or reputable mid-sized firms)U.S. CPA designation OR IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) designation(non-negotiable requirement)Robust cross-border U.S.-Canada tax experienceProven experience with buy-side and sell-side M&A transactionsMultistate tax experience (not just federal)Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordAbility to manage several projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlinesIntellectual curiosity and creativity in problem-solvingFlexibility and availability to meet client and business needsGood judgment and decision-making abilitiesOpen-mindedness and commitment to continuous learningStrong team spirit and ability to work collaborativelyExceptional client service orientation and professionalismPublic practice background (not in-house/industry only)Preferred:Master in Tax (MTax)
