Zurich Canada Technical Underwriting is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our growing Commercial Business unit. The role reports to the VP & Acting Director and supports the pricing of new and renewal business, the development of premium/rating structures, and the transformation of the Commercial lines ecosystem. You will partner with key stakeholders from the business, including market‑facing underwriters and global pricing teams to support business objectives.

Hybrid work model requires three days per week in a Zurich Canada office (Toronto, Kitchener/Waterloo, Montreal). All hiring decisions are reviewed and made by qualified hiring professionals.

What you will do

- Take a high level of responsibility, ownership, and the ability to influence strategic decisions.
- Contribute to pricing and portfolio initiatives across Commercial lines, including Property, GL, A&H;, Cyber, and Skilled E&O.;
- Provide consultation on actuarial models and risk issues.
- Develop pricing models that reflect complex account structures, high deductibles/SIRs, and/or aggregates.
- Collaborate with market‑facing underwriters to deliver creative solutions to clients and support technical underwriters on pricing decisions.
- Set and communicate pricing algorithm requirements for production systems.
- Monitor performance of business portfolios and track accuracy and completeness of key performance indicators.




- Evolve lines of business through new insights and pricing techniques.
- Ensure implementation of governance processes, maintaining compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop an international network and share best practices with global colleagues.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or another technical field.
- 5 Actuarial Exam credits or near ACAS or equivalent international certification recognized by the CIA.
- 3 or more years of experience in the actuarial area.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SQL and R.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous actuarial experience in Commercial lines of business.
- Near ACAS designation.
- Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management).
- Ability to explain technical analysis results to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating on cross‑functional team projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay equity: The salary range for this position is $82,000 – $132,000. The range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. Starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.
