About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the engineering efforts to bootstrap a unified platform that enables internal and external agents to interact seamlessly with the Workday Data Cloud through a robust semantic layer and MCP server framework. As a senior engineer you will be responsible for delivering mission‑critical capabilities that meet rigorous functional and quality requirements on schedule.

Responsibilities

- Spearhead engineering efforts to bootstrap a unified platform for agent interaction with the Workday Data Cloud.
- Deliver mission‑critical capabilities meeting rigorous functional and quality requirements on schedule.

Qualifications

- 8+ years experience in software development engineering, architecting, building, and scaling robust and efficient software systems.
- 5+ years hands‑on experience delivering Machine Learning or Agent systems from experimentation, implementation, validation and monitoring.
- Expert in at least one of the following areas: Machine Learning or Data Science, familiar with Agent frameworks and design patterns; MCP protocol and server technologies; Semantic engine or BI, familiar with Semantic Modeling, Knowledge Representations, and BI frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of development lifecycles for projects utilizing programming languages and frameworks such as Scala,



Python, PyTorch, LangChain, etc.
- Solid ability in algorithmic thinking to design and optimize solutions for complex ML and Agentic systems.
- Solid experience with API Development, and experience in designing and building MCP server.
- Strong understanding of Object‑Oriented Design principles and their application in designing scalable software architectures.
- Proven ability to lead team collaboration within a software development team and mentor junior engineers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits

Annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. The role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role‑specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need.

- Primary Location: Vancouver, Canada – CAD $140,000–$210,000
- Additional Location(s): Canada – CAD $140,000–$210,000
