Eaton's Electrical sector is currently seeking a Field Service Representative (Technician/ Technologist) to join our team. This position is based at our Kitchener, ON facility and offers benefits from day 1 as well as access to a company vehicle.

What you'll do:

Under the direction of the District Manager, this position is responsible to provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on power transmission, distribution and generation equipment and systems.

In this function you will:





- Provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment.
- Self‑manage assigned projects for electrical equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment.
- Deliver technical solutions to customers.
- Perform less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations.

Skilled proficiency in the following:

- Basic Test Equipment Operation
- Basic Troubleshooting Techniques
- Intermediate Test Equipment Operation
- Advanced Troubleshooting Technique

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

- Post‑secondary education degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologist / CET from an accredited institution or enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
- 1‑3 years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.
- Local business travel to customer sites required.
- Business travel to United States for training on safety and Eaton products is required.
- Valid and maintain an unrestricted driver's license is required.
- No relocation assistance is provided.

Preferred Qualifications





- Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician.

- Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem‑solving skills.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
- Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills.
- Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
- Understanding of the company's and competitor's electrical, electronic and mechanical products.
- Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable.
- Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis is highly desirable.
- Experience with protective relays is highly desirable.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $69,000 – $87,000 a year. You are also eligible for overtime compensation.
