Overview

Our Underwriting Managers customize solutions for our commercial clients and lead and develop a team of underwriters. They work closely with our broker network to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk. They are people-centric leaders who truly care about the development of their teams and invest in their career growth.

They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our brokers — this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and in-person broker meetings are regularly scheduled. They also pay attention to the smallest details and work closely with our Actuarial and Claims Departments.

Responsibilities

- Commercial underwriting
- Responsible for the successful evaluation, documentation, selection, negotiation, and pricing for assigned policies
- Sales & Negotiation
- Develop and maintain a professional relationship with brokers and/or customers
- Coaching & Mentoring
- Operations leadership

Qualifications

- 10+ years of Commercial Underwriting experience
- Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
- Strong customer service background

The base salary range for Vancouver is between $120,000 and $130,000 .

- Actual pay may be below or above range based on candidates' knowledge, skills, and level of ability relative to expectations for the role. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.
