Responsibilities

- Liaise confidently and directly with clients/owners to develop project needs from initial concepts through implementation.
- Conduct site visits and inspections during construction and communicate with contractors with regards to conformance to designs or added/amended scope.
- Provide complete systems integration/commissioning to the successful satisfaction of the client.
- Prepare and/or interpret design criteria and scope.
- Prepare P&ID; and flow sheet diagrams, schematics and balances as they relate to HVAC, water, steam, condensate, hydronic and compressed air systems and other building services systems.
- Be proficient in Industrial and Building HVAC and air movement systems, as well, building utilities design such as steam, condensate, cold and hot water, chilled water, cooling tower systems and associated piping distribution networks.
- Be proficient in pump design and selection, fire suppression systems, storm and sanitary piping designs, compressed air, and other specialty process piping network designs.
- Specify and select equipment and systems for purchase.
- Prepare cost estimates for engineering work and/or capital expenditures.
- Organize, plan, schedule, budget engineering, drafting, and design work.
- Assume responsibility for engineering, design and drafting work within assigned areas.
- Prepare or update design and construction standards and contract specifications, scope documents, and special details.
- Lead the design of systems by providing input to designers for layouts including equipment, systems, instruments and controls,



etc related to building services.
- Perform calculations and conduct analyses and studies as necessary to complete design work.
- Proficient in the use of heating and cooling software such as Carrier HAP.
- Check drawings for accuracy and overall quality.
- Document engineering and design work.
- Write technical reports.

Qualifications

- 5 to 10 years' related experience in Industrial, Building and Public Infrastructure HVAC along with an engineering or applied science degree.
- Knowledge in governing applicable codes and regulations pertaining to required systems experience noted above.
- Registration as a Qualified Engineer (PEO) in ON.
- Knowledge of project contractual and other administrative procedures such as the preparation of Site Instruction and Change Orders.
- Ability to coordinate with other disciplines such as structural and electrical in the execution of the design work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and able to travel independently to client sites for meetings and inspections.

Salary

$98,000 - $125,000 annually.
