Salary: Estimated $130,000 – $160,000. Eligible for an annual bonus plan, leave‑of‑absence top‑up programs, generous vacation time, personal days, premium free benefits and a pension plan.

Job Overview

Actuarial Expert within the Pricing Modelling team. Provide technical leadership to advance Wawanesa’s loss cost and demand modelling capabilities, shape future modelling priorities, and lead high‑impact projects that support effective, accurate, and maintainable modelling processes.

Job Responsibilities

- Master data access, selection, and interpretation; evaluate procedures and recommend improvements.
- Expertise in analytical methods; innovate on complex projects; automate routine tasks to focus on high‑leverage work.
- Design and implement robust processes that simplify work for self and peers.
- Develop creative solutions to complex problems and assess impacts of options.
- Serve as a leader in the actuarial community; contribute to training materials and mentorship.




- Lead large‑scale, complex, high‑impact projects and initiatives with minimal oversight.
- Document projects thoroughly and provide training and documentation for final products.
- Perform thoughtful peer review and elevate the skill level of surrounding professionals.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Advanced communicator and negotiator; strong storytelling skills.
- Proficiency with Excel, SQL, R, Python, or other specialized programs.
- Excellent problem‑solving ability integrating actuarial science, math, statistics, and business.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple concurrent assignments, individually and in leadership roles, within timely deadlines.
- Experience mentoring and coaching analysts and managers.
