Vac Truck Operator

Responsibilities

- Operate equipment in accordance with company and customer expectations.
- Maintain equipment per company and manufacturer requirements.
- Perform thorough daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate ELD logs and required documents.
- Attend daily safety meetings.
- Follow the safety program, including all policies, procedures, and practices.
- Maintain valid safety tickets and site orientations as required.

Qualifications and Competencies

- Minimum 3 years of experience with a valid Class 1 or Class 3 license with a Clean Abstract and Air Brakes.
- Experience operating a semi vac, hydro vac, or combo vac unit.
- Experience with 13‑ or 18‑speed transmissions (manual).
- Strong communicator with staff, managers, and other drivers.




- Instructor certified in First Aid & H2S Alive.
- Assets: CSE, CSTS, Fall Protection, Ground Disturbance.
- Operate a heavy vehicle in challenging environments, all‑weather conditions, and in compliance with legal, company, and client requirements.
- Pass pre‑employment Fit‑to‑Work and drug/alcohol testing.
- Physically fit to enter/exit the vehicle many times per day, inspect under vehicle and trailer, and climb.
- Willingness to travel.
