Diagnostic Medical Sonography Curriculum Development (Part time)

The School of Health and Wellness at RDP is currently inviting applications for part-time curriculum developers in the generalist Diagnostic Medical Sonography Diploma Program. The program is a two-year diploma that prepares graduates to become Diagnostic Medical Sonographers upon successful completion of the Sonography Canada credentialing exams. It offers opportunities to work closely with students, faculty, and staff in an innovative, supportive environment that promotes creativity, scholarship, and a commitment to student success.

We are seeking experienced Sonographers to assist in developing and enhancing program content. Join a team of learning designers and other curriculum developers that is shaping the future of Sonography at RDP. The institute offers a professional development program to help faculty continuously improve skills, knowledge, and expertise in teaching and learning and subject areas.

Position Responsibilities

The deliverables for this Program Development contract will be tied to specific dates throughout the process. The average time for the development of a single course is 5–6 weeks, with an expected workload of approximately 10 hours per week.

Development begins with scheduled kick‑off meetings with the Associate Dean and the Centre of Teaching, Learning and Scholarship (CTLS) within the first week of the contract start date.

Course Planning Map

- Use the current and approved course curriculum elements sheet (CES) and the required RDP Planning Map to design assigned courses.
- Continue using the CES and RDP Planning Map to complete assigned courses.
- Completion of the planning map must contain fully developed suitable assessments and learning activities, including rubrics where feasible, and all necessary quiz/exam questions and answers.
- Create a proposed course outline.




- Provide updates to the Learning Designer and the Associate Dean.

The Course Planning Map is Complete and Submitted

- Submit the Course Planning map to an Educational Multimedia Specialist to build the course in Brightspace.
- Incorporate learning activities into Brightspace.
- Develop suitable assessments, including rubrics where feasible.
- Create a proposed course outline.
- Complete the Gradebook in Brightspace.

Quality Review

- Make revisions as needed.
- The Course Master is built in Brightspace and submitted to the CTLS and Associate Dean for review.

Required Qualifications

- Current registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in good standing with Sonography Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

- Instructional and Curriculum Development experience.

Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Benefits and Compensation Information

This position also offers an additional 14% of the gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
