Reporting to the Director of Wellness & Recovery, the Manager, Wellness & Recovery provides leadership and operational oversight to integrated mental health, counselling, wellness, and addictions teams delivering community-based services across multiple locations.

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring mental wellness and recovery programs remain responsive, culturally informed, and aligned with the evolving needs of the communities they serve. The successful candidate will foster clinical excellence while supporting a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to delivering holistic mental health and addictions services.

Working closely with senior leadership, the Manager will contribute to strategic planning, quality improvement initiatives, operational excellence, and program development. This role plays an integral part in strengthening integrated models of care, improving referral pathways, supporting equitable access to services, and building high-performing clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Practice Oversight

- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to interdisciplinary mental health, counselling, wellness, and addictions teams.
- Support integrated clinical decision-making, case conferencing, complex case management, and risk assessment processes.
- Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives that enhance client outcomes and service delivery.

Team Leadership & People Development

- Lead, coach, and support multidisciplinary teams while fostering a collaborative, strengths-based culture.
- Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and employee development.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, coaching, and development planning.
- Identify learning opportunities and coordinate ongoing professional education.
- Support employee relations, workplace safety initiatives, legislative compliance, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate closely with other operational leaders to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Participate in Joint Health & Safety initiatives and promote a strong culture of workplace safety.

Program & Operational Management

- Oversee day-to-day delivery of mental health and addictions programs.
- Manage staffing levels, vacation scheduling, and operational coverage to ensure continuity of care.
- Partner with leadership to develop and implement new clinical programs and services.
- Monitor service access,



treatment effectiveness, and operational performance.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and clinical care pathways.
- Ensure consistent best practices across all clinical programs.
- Provide on-site leadership while fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
- Lead regular operational and team meetings.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Community Partnerships

- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies, healthcare partners, and external stakeholders.
- Strengthen integrated models of care through interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Chair multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate communication across various clinical programs.
- Provide regular operational updates to senior leadership.

Quality Improvement, Data & Reporting

- Lead Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) and program evaluation activities.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, service metrics, and program performance indicators.
- Support accurate clinical documentation and data collection within electronic medical record systems.
- Analyze performance data to guide planning and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to organizational reporting requirements and funding-related reporting.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, education, and mock drills.

Financial & Resource Management

- Assist with annual budget planning and financial monitoring.
- Manage staffing resources, clinical supplies, and operational expenditures.
- Participate in purchasing and resource allocation decisions.

Compliance & Professional Practice

- Ensure compliance with professional standards, organizational policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable legislation.
- Maintain required professional licensing and competencies.
- Champion culturally secure, trauma-informed, equitable, and client-centered care.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory body, or a Bachelor's degree in a related mental health discipline.




- Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Mental Health Leadership, or a related field is considered an asset.
- 3–5 years of progressive clinical experience within mental health, addictions, community-based care, residential treatment, or inpatient mental health services.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing interdisciplinary healthcare teams of approximately 20 or more employees.
- Experience leading mental health and addictions programs.
- Experience with quality improvement, accreditation, and program development.
- Knowledge of healthcare funding models and community system navigation.
- Experience supporting Indigenous communities or culturally specific healthcare services is considered an asset.
- Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification is an asset.

Working Conditions

- Primarily an on-site leadership position.
- Work is performed within clinic, office, and community settings.
- Regular travel between locations and community partners is required.
- Reliable access to a vehicle and a valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence are required.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Position involves managing competing priorities within a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Periodic exposure to traditional ceremonial practices involving sacred medicines may occur.

Additional Requirements

- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Current Tuberculosis (TST) clearance.
- Current CPR Level C/HCP certification.
