This permanent, full time role in Knoxville, TN, Madison, WI, or Vancouver, BC, reports to the Senior Director of Physics Analysis. You’ll be pivotal in developing high-fidelity models for stellarator design, utilizing predictive modeling techniques. Engage with plasma physics to enhance data-driven decisions that propel fusion energy advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop integrated modeling frameworks for plasma simulations
• Perform predictions using gyrokinetic turbulence simulations
• Contribute to validation of plasma physics simulation tools
• Analyze core-edge modeling for plasma performance
• Collaborate with engineering on system optimization
Requirements:
• PhD in Plasma Physics or related fields
• Strong background in numerical simulation methods
• Experience with gyrokinetic codes and MHD tools
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and HPC environments
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
