Join Hall Mechanical as a Mechanical Plumber Prefabrication Shop Foreman in Coquitlam!The Mechanical Plumber Prefabrication Shop Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities in the prefabrication shop, including production scheduling, tool management, quality control, safety, and staff development. This role ensures the safe, accurate, and timely fabrication of mechanical assemblies while fostering the growth of prefabrication assemblers and plumbing apprentices.Core Responsibilities:Plan, schedule, and assign work to meet production targets and project deadlinesManage time entry for shop employees to ensure accurate recording of labor hours and job costingMonitor output for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standardsCreate, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all workstations and shop safety processesCoordinate closely with project managers, field supervisors, and procurement to align shop activities with operational requirementsLead and supervise a team of welders, pipefitters, assemblers, and laborersProvide training, coaching, and mentorship to support the development of apprentices and trade staffConduct regular performance evaluations and set clear expectations for productivity, quality, and safetyFoster a positive, team-focused work environmentManage the inventory, organization, maintenance, and safe operation of all shop tools and equipment, including inspections and replacement proceduresEnsure proper tool usage and adherence to established protocolsInspect completed assemblies and subassemblies to verify accuracy, completeness,
and compliance with standardsReview and maintain quality documentation, including inspection records and checklistsManage material handling, storage, and inventory to support efficient production and minimize wasteCoordinate staging and delivery of prefabricated materials to project sitesPromote a safe work workplace by leading toolbox talks, safety meetings, and job hazard assessmentsEnsure compliance with safety regulations, maintain safe equipment operation, and investigate any incidents or near missesTrack labor hours, production progress, material usage, and tool inventoriesPrepare reports on shop performance, tool and equipment status, and staff development activitiesTechnical Skills:Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specificationsKnowledge of fabrication methods, welding, rigging, and safe work practicesProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and scheduling or inventory softwareInterpersonal Skills:Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to mentor apprentices and support team developmentStrong attention to detail and focus on safety and quality standardsQualifications:Journeyperson certification in Pipefitting, Plumbing, or Welding,
