Pay Details

$126,800 - $164,100 CAD. This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities. Job Description

We are looking for a hands‑on Lead Engineer/Dev Manager who will work on innovative and transformational initiatives at TD Securities. The successful candidate will design and develop a scalable, resilient and high‑performing PnL (Profit and Loss) reporting platform used by Risk Analysts, Front‑Office Traders, and Senior Executives. As a lead engineer, you will lead an engineering team to pinpoint bottlenecks, provide tangible solutions to resolve production issues quickly, and demonstrate strong technical leadership to ensure the quality of deliverables in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

- Lead the team to deliver high‑quality software and help the business run efficiently.
- Lead the team to manage multiple streams and follow proper code promotion processes.
- Manage lower development environments and ensure environment stability.
- Conduct design review and code review processes to ensure software quality.
- Perform reverse engineering of legacy codes, optimize code and address system bottlenecks.




- Analyze production issues and provide permanent solutions.
- Promote best practices and follow continuous integration and delivery guidelines.
- Drive transformation by automating existing processes, testing, and optimizing data quality.
- Explore current capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
- Experience in managing an engineering team.

Technical Skills

- 10+ years of technical leadership experience in delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical projects.
- 5+ years of managing an engineering team.
- 8+ years of Java/JEE experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the Spring tech stack and building microservices using Spring Boot.
- 3+ years of experience in Scala/Spark.
- Strong experience with Hadoop, Spark, Parquet or similar Big Data technologies.
- Strong experience in Linux environments.
- Experience designing and integrating with REST APIs.
- Experience working with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka).
- Experience with RDBMS, fluent SQL and non‑relational databases such as Cassandra.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven), Jenkins, and agile environments.
- Understanding of best practices and design patterns.
- Experience developing and managing highly scalable, low‑latency systems.
- A passion for bringing best products to customers, simplifying work, and automating processes to improve efficiency.

Business Skills

- Good communication skills, experience collaborating within a global team.
- Demonstrable experience working in a fast‑paced environment with PMs and business sponsors.
- Nice to have: Hands‑on experience with market risk and/or PnL reporting.
