Overview

We are a rural community clinic inviting a locum physician for the summer months (June 29 – Sep 7, 2026). Positions are flexible with a typical 4‑day/week schedule (available up to 5 days). The practice is shared between two general practitioners and three other practices, offering teamwork, weekend rounds, and inpatient/long‑term care (LTC) responsibilities.

Key Duties

- Provide primary care to an average of 24 patients per day.
- Participate in shared weekend rounds (approximately 1 of 6 weekends).
- Optional emergency department coverage.
- Optional obstetrics coverage.
- Mandatory inpatient and LTC management (currently 2 stable LTC patients).
- Home visits, as needed.
- Use the Mois EMR platform.

- Location: Smithers, BC




- Job Type: Medium Term (2–8 weeks)
- Hours: Full time, 4–5 days per week.
- Overhead Split: 75%
- Payment: Billings‑based locum.
- Travel and accommodation: Not provided.

Requirements

- Board‑certified Family Medicine or equivalent.
- Valuable command of English.
- Experience in inpatient and LTC care preferred.
- Comfortable with Mois EMR system.
