Reporting to the Head of Engineering, Wealth, the Senior Manager of Engineering is responsible for providing leadership and direction on end-to-end technology design and implementation. The successful candidate will interact with business and technology leaders across the Bank, establishing a dynamic strategy focused on utilizing tools and capabilities innovatively and aligned to our enterprise architecture. The role requires a deep understanding of technology, a passion for innovation, inspired leadership, and a drive for results, with experience in large program technology delivery and superior organization and communication skills.

Key Accountabilities

- Manage the team that architects, develops, operates, and supports wealth management technology solutions with focus on mobile app development.
- Establish and maintain a sustainable and operational resilient team to support the execution of an ambitious roadmap focusing on client‑centric value delivery, on‑time, on‑budget with high quality and extensibility.
- Lead, coach and continuously advance the capabilities of the technology team, ensuring future technology skills and capabilities are identified and built.
- Champion the use of diverse technology, industry best practices and data analytics to continuously advance business capabilities.
- Champion the thoughtful use of AI‑driven development tools, enabling development acceleration while ensuring judgement and problem solving remain with the people.
- Clearly communicate and garner support for the technology vision and strategy to business and technology leaders.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors through proactive management and governance practices.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, advice and knowledge transfer to team members on all aspects of application development for assigned applications or technology.

Required Experience & Skills





- 5+ years of experience leading a software engineering team, working with others to solve problems, sharing knowledge, growing and mentoring developers.
- 5+ years of experience producing secure internet / client‑facing enterprise solutions in a professional development environment.
- Strong wealth management acumen, including an understanding of client journeys, investment products, regulatory expectations, and how technology enables scalable, secure, and client‑centric wealth solutions.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in secure software solution design & development using Kotlin, Android Frameworks, Swift / iOS frameworks, Java, Angular and public cloud technologies.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience operationalizing highly available software solutions.
- 3+ years of experience leading agile development teams, and providing leadership in ceremonies such as backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Excel at designing and operationalizing software engineering processes to deliver high‑quality code.
- Excellent understanding of HTTP protocol and REST‑style API design patterns.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity in the context of securing public Internet‑facing applications.
- Strong working understanding of public cloud technologies (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS).
- Good understanding of micro‑services architectural pattern in the context of business operating model.
- Good understanding and avid proponent of DevOps practices.




- Ability to work independently as well as in highly team-oriented team environments.
- Ability to do both short‑term tactical and long‑term strategic solutions / planning.
- Ability to balance logical problem‑solving with innovative thinking.
- Ability to contribute positively to team culture, with a focus on inclusion and diversity.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and escalations.
- Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills (in English).
- Bachelor or higher degree.

- Digital commerce technology experience.
- SalesForce.com development & integration experience.
- Front‑end software development experience with Angular, and React.
- Hands‑on REST API design and development experience.
- Understanding or certification with Canadian Securities Course.
