The Assistant Deputy Minister, Financial Services and Senior Financial Officer (ADM SFO) plays a critical leadership role in ensuring financial accountability across the Department of Technology and Innovation. This position is responsible for overseeing the department’s financial governance framework and coordinating the delivery of financial services to both the department and its associated public sector agencies.
As the department’s senior financial advisor, you will provide strategic guidance to the Minister, Deputy Minister, executive leadership, and program areas on financial planning, strategy, and execution across a range of complex business environments. You will lead all fiscal management activities, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities and government-wide objectives. This role requires a visionary leader who can foster a culture of financial stewardship and collaboration. In addition to providing leadership for core fiscal management activities, including multi‑year financial planning, budget oversight, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls, you will lead and be accountable for procurement, contract management, and contract review, ensuring robust oversight in a rapidly evolving program environment. Qualificat
ionsYour background includes significant executive leadership experience, with strengths in financial management and fiscal oversight within a large public‑sector organization. As the ideal candidate you bring substantive private sector experience in a senior financial leadership role and a proven track record of driving change with demonstrated experience in innovation, economic development, or intellectual property creation environments, whether as a Chief Financial Officer ("CFO"), Senior Financial Officer ("SFO"), or senior financial analyst and executive advisor. Operating in fast‑paced environments, with demonstrated experience building new programs, organizational functions, or service models from the ground up, you have demonstrated the ability to lead organizational transformation in complex, multi‑stakeholder setti
